Current Job Opening: Pacific Neurophysiological
has an opening in San Francisco, CA for a full-time
Neurophysiologic
Intraoperative Monitoring Technologist to:
Perform neurophysiologic monitoring in the operating room
to
assist in assessing the functional integrity of the peripheral
and central nervous system during vascular, orthopedic, and
neurosurgical
operative procedures. Monitor the intraoperative recording to
make recommendations to the surgeon and conduct the appropriate
electrophysiologic testing. Advise the anesthesiologist on
anesthesia
impacts to neurophysiologic monitoring. Postoperatively
submit
final intraoperative report to the attending surgeon
and
the company's medical office. Conduct the following
core
intraoperative monitoring procedures: Motor cranial nerve
assessment
using evoked and passive electromyography techniques;
assessment
of spinal cord sensory and motor function using somatosensory
evoked potentials and transcranial motor evoked potentials,
motor strip mapping of cortical surface using electrical
stimulation
and EMG techniques, assessment of electroencephalographic
burst
suppression activity with sensory and motor evoked potential
measures to provide cerebral protection via titration of anesthetic
agents, neuromonitoring of spinal root and cord function for
proper pedicle screw placement in spinal fusion and instrumention
surgeries; and transcranial electrical stimulation of motor
cortex for monitoring spinal cord motor function in orthopedic
and neurosurgical cases.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master
degree in Biomedical or Electronic Engineering, Computer
Information
Systems or Life Sciences and 2 years of relevant experience
and
Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring
credential.
